A question we are often asked by many people on a daily basis, and with the announcement today that the UK minimum wage rates will be changing from October 2009 it’s a question we thought we should cover now so that everyone understands what rates they are currently entitled to un till October and what they will be entitled to from October:
Current Minimum Wage Rates
Workers aged 22 and over: £5.73 per hour
Workers aged 18-21: £4.77 per hour (development rate)
Workers under 18: £3.53 per hour (who are no longer of compulsory school age)

So from October 1st 2009 the National Minimum Wage changes to the above rates, don’t forget to check your pay slips to make sure your employer has made the correct changes.
