To help make your next recruitment decision an easy one, Jobcentre Plus is offering £1000 for every eligible person that you recruit, who has been claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance for six months or more.
Thousands of eligible candidates looking for work want you to notice their potential and may refer to the £1000 in their letter of application, as part of their CV, on your application forms, or during your recruitment process.
You may be recruiting a few people this year or you may be looking to bring 12 or more new people into your business. Either way the process for making a claim is quick and easy:
|
| Recruiting less than 12 people a year
If you are only planning to recruit a few people over the next year, then you could claim each time you recruit each eligible employee.
All you will need to do is -
1) Remember to ask your new employees if they have been claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance for 6 months or more and check to see if they have a Recruitment Voucher, to help you determine which employees you can claim for.
2) Ask your new employee to complete Part 1b of their voucher. Read and sign the Terms and Conditions on the Recruitment Voucher. Complete your name, address and payment details and send it back by a secure postal route to the address shown.
On receipt, Jobcentre Plus will validate your claim and providing that the employee is eligible, we will pay £500 into your bank account within 15 working days.
26 weeks after your new employee starts work, Jobcentre Plus will perform a second check against our records to make sure that the employee is still in work. If they are still not claiming a Jobcentre Plus benefit, then you will be paid the remaining £500.*

| Recruiting more than 12 people a year
If you are planning to recruit a dozen or more people over the next year, then you will need to discuss your requirements with Jobcentre Plus. We will work with you to decide the best way of supporting your business and making your claims, which may include account management and access to our bulk billing process.
Whether you make a claim as you recruit each eligible employee, or whether you send in a bulk claim for several employees on a monthly or quarterly basis is up to you. Your claims will be validated and we will pay £1000 into your bank account for each eligible employee. We will also provide a remittance advice to help you to track who you have received payment for.* Payment will be made into your account within 15 working days of remittance. Claims may be made for all eligible employees that have started work, from the date that you provide a verbal agreement to our Terms and Conditions, subject to formal signing.
You don’t have to place your vacancies with Jobcentre Plus to make your claim but you may find the offer of our other services too good to ignore. Thousands of employers work with Jobcentre Plus to take advantage of our free vacancy advertising service and many of them take this relationship even further, through Local Employment Partnerships.
To take advantage of this offer you need to contact our National Payments Team at recruitment.subsidy@jobcentreplus.gsi.gov.uk and register your interest today. They will be in touch to go through the details with you.
As well as the £1000, there may be even more help available to get the most from your new employees with free in-work training available in England and Scotland. If you are part of a Local Employment Partnership talk to your Jobcentre Plus account manager to discuss your in-work training needs, or you can go direct.
